The Ethiopia 2018 National Human Development Report explores the relationship between inclusive industrialisation and sustainable human development. It initiates development policy discourse among stakeholders for expanding peoples’ choices that goes beyond improved income. This report has indeed been beneficial in providing evidence based analysis and policy options for accelerating inclusive industrialization with the aim of advancing human development. The report examines the linkages between industrialization and human development are not automatic and hence needs to be managed for better outcome on human development.

Ethiopia’s 2018 National Human Development Report (NHDR) argues that to achieve sustainable outcome, the country’s industrialization needs to have human development as its primary end goal and follow an inclusive and green approach that creates decent jobs, ensures gender parity, and protects the environment.
