About us
UNDP and the UN
UNDP is a key development partner for the Government of Ethiopia to address key underlying structural causes of poverty and deprivation. UNDP’s work focuses on issues of governance and peacebuilding, support for internally displaced persons, environmental risks, resilience and disaster risk management.
Within the UN system, UNDP plays an integrator role serving both as a foundation for a strong UN development system, services and platforms in support of a coherent UN system approach to the achievement of the SDGs. The UN in Ethiopia is one of the largest UN country teams in the world with 28 specialized agencies, funds and programmes working both in development and humanitarian assistance.
The Resident Representative of UNDP is also a member of the UN Country Team in Ethiopia.
