Fifty-Five participants drawn from universities, technical & vocational schools, and microfinance institutions across Ethiopia graduated from an intensive six day Entrepreneurship Development workshop on Saturday 13th April 2013 in Addis Ababa. A selected number of the graduates will go on to take part in a training of trainers workshop. The Entrepreneurship Development Programme seeks to train 25,000 trainers in the coming three years.
“Ethiopia has never been a country to shy away from challenges and we see that warrior spirit in its approach to the climate change agenda” UNDP Ethiopia Deputy Country Director Bettina Woll told graduates of a six month Leadership for Results Programme on 16th March 2013 during a ceremony in Adama town.
The UN Running for a Child campaign has fundraised over 1,2 million Ethiopian Birr, which will go towards supporting the work of four community based institutions identified in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth Affairs.
Ethiopia kicked off its Post 2015 consultations in the northen city of Bahir Dar, where around 200 participants from four regional states and comprising members from the public, private and civil society gathered for two days to dialogue on their vision for the country's development agenda. The participants were drawn from the Afar, Amhara, Tigray and Benishangul Gumuz regions.
