What We Do
UNDP works in Ethiopia to support the county's priorities as defined in the national five year development plan, the Growth and Transformation (GTP). The GTP (2010/11-2014/15), as was the case with Ethiopia’s previous five-year national plans, complements the country’s efforts to meet the MDG. UNDP’s key interventions in Ethiopia fall under these three programme pillars: • Growth and Poverty Reduction • Climate Change and Environment Vulnerability • Governance.
UNDP's catalytic interventions in Ethiopia are helping to enhance the country's progress towards meeting its development agenda of sustainable and equitable growth. UNDP's Country Programme Document as well as the Country Programme Action Plan are aligned with the GTP. The same is true of the United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF 2011 - 2015), which seeks to ensure optimal coherence and coordination of the assistance provided by various UN agencies.
